TTCF's First Virtual 20KM Cycling Time Trial

The Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Federation (TTCF) in collaboration with Indoor Cycling Works hosted the first sanctioned Online 20KM Time Trial in Trinidad using the Zwift App Online platform, a first for esport cycling in Trinidad and Tobago. This was held at the studio of Indoor Cycling Works, at Mucurapo Road, Port of Spain, on July 10th -12th, with twenty two participants successfully completing the event.
There was a mix of participants both from the Cycling fraternity and Tri-Athlon Federations, which made the competition quite appealing. The general feedback from the cyclist who took part in the event was very good. All commented positively having now experienced the event and welcomed the challenge. They would also like to see more of this in the near future and would be encouraging their other mates in the sport to be part of the experience.
The TTCF would like to congratulate all the participants for the outstanding effort in this first time event and look forward to future participation. There is a Prize giving ceremony scheduled for 11.00am on Saturday 18th July 2020 at the Indoor Cycle Works studio, on Mucurapo Road. The awardees only can attend as we continue to observe the Social Distancing protocols.
The TTCF is also very grateful for the contribution made by the founder of Indoor Cycling Works and National cyclist Joshua Alexander and technical advisor Ed Moyz, and the success of this event. We wish to assure our Cycling Fraternity in spite of the negative impact we have had with our planned calendar events being cancelled during the past months due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, The Racing committee is striving for racing alternatives moving forward to the rest of the year as we continue to monitor and adhere to the Governments “New Normal” protocols for Sport.
