Do you want the exciting opportunity of volunteering for a high level International sporting event right here in Trinidad & Tobago? This is your chance to help promote T&T through sport at a World Class facility! This is your chance to be part of the Caribbean’s biggest track cycling event ever!

The 2016 Junior Pan American Track Cycling Championships will feature over 200 cyclists from 20+ countries from the entire Western Hemisphere at the brand new National Cycling Centre in Balmain, Couva from the 27th – 31st August. If you have a knack or you're looking to hone your skills in event management, logistics, languages or you are just a lover of sport then you can become a key component of the event as a volunteer.


Any major event is made possible with the invaluable contributions of the volunteers and without persons like you we cannot make the event a successful one. This is also a great opportunity for you to network with persons in similar fields ! We are looking to fill volunteer vacancies as Foreign Team Liaisons, Ushers, Parking Attendants, Translators (English or Portuguese), Event Logistics Assistants, Timing System Assistants, Transportation to name a few!

VOLUNTEERS – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What are the criteria to apply to volunteer?
A: You can apply if you meet the following criteria

  • 18 years of age or over by Monday 22nd August, 2016 or received written consent from Parent/Guardian
  • Available for shifts between Thursday 25 August to Thursday 1 September 2016
  • Have a valid and working email address

Q: When will I hear whether my application has been successful?
A: On completion and submission of your registration form, we will contact you with updates as appropriate and please do not worry if you do not hear straight away. We aim to have volunteer recruitment concluded by Friday 5th August 2016. If you hear of someone who has received a volunteer offer before you hear whether your application has been successful, do not be alarmed. We are anticipating a very high volume of applications and therefore your patience will be greatly appreciated. You will know by Friday 12th August, 2016 whether your application has been successful or not.

Q: Will you be providing accommodation for volunteers?
A: No, we will not be providing or covering the costs for volunteer accommodation during the championships in Couva.

Q: What can I expect to receive as a Volunteer?
A: All volunteers will receive two meals (lunch and dinner) per day and as well official Junior Pan Am t-shirts. Not to forget the unforgettable experience of the event itself!

Q: Will the 2016 volunteer team receive training?
A: Yes, training will be provided. Successful applicants will be expected to attend a volunteer briefing, dates and times will be confirmed to those who are successful.
