As of January 1st 2016, Sei Daniel, the Junior Pan Am Keirin Bronze medalist will be plying his trade in the Elite 1 category as was indicated today when the TTCF released their official list of promotions for the year 2016. As per the approved policy guiding the Promotion and Demotion of a cyclist, Rule PP.3.007 indicates that any Junior cyclist medaling in a foreign International event in his/her final year as a Junior will gain automatic promotion to Elite 1 the following year.

In addition to his Junior Pan Am Keirin, Daniel also represented his club Arima Wheelers well at the Milton International Cycling Challenge in Toronto, Canada after capturing Gold and Silver in the Sprint and Keirin events respectively. However, the moment which announced his intention to be a contender was at the UCI Class 3 Easter International Grand Prix when he finished a surprising fourth among his Elite compatriots.

Also moving up into Elite 1 on the track are Gavyn Nero and James Hadeed who both gained automatic promotion due to their selection to Elite National Teams at the Caribbean Track and Pan American Track Championships. Inaddition, After being considerably consistent in the Elite 3 category on the Track in 2015, Marc Pogson has also gained his right to promotion into the Elite 2 category on the track and will be looking to quickly possibly move into the Elite 1 category by 2017.

The female cyclists are not to be outdone either as Junior Pan double Gold Medalist, Kollyn St. George, Junior Pan Am Gold Medalist, Keiana Lester and double Caribbean Gold Medalist, Teniel Campbell will also compete in the Elite Women category as they all have past the age of 18 years old.

The TTCF wishes a safe and exciting year to all the newly promoted cyclists. Note, this list does not include cyclists who would have automatically gain promotion to another category based on their age.
