For the first time ever, the Wallerfield International Raceway will welcome competitive cycling when the TTCF National Criterium Championships is hosted at the venue on Sunday 18th June, 2017. The T&T Automobile Sports Association (TTASA) has made the spectacular facility in East Trinidad available for use by the TTCF after a successful closed door trial run was held earlier in June.
The National Criterium Championships will be held on the 1.35km course for all categories from Tinymites to Masters 70+ as close to 100 cyclists will be competing for National Glory. From 1:00pm on Sunday, the circuit race course used by the fastest wheelmen in T&T will now be host to the fastest men on two wheels without a motor.
Following the Championships, cycling will return to Wallerfield on the 2nd July when TTASA hosts a Circuit Race event at the facility. The TTCF will feature two races in between the Circuit Races for Stagiaries inclusive of Juveniles, Masters 50-59, Masters 60-69, Elite Women and Elite 3 and then an Open event for Elite Men, Juniors, Masters 40-49 and Invitational with cash prizes available for all categories.
