National Cyclist and former Junior Pan American Champion, Keiana Lester is currently warded at the San Fernando General Hospital after being involved in a head on collission with a vehicle while on a training ride in Erin on Saturday morning. Lester, who is a two-time Junior Pan Am medalist and currently shares the National Record (both Juniors and Seniors) and the Junior Pan American Record in the Team Sprint is currently being monitored by the medical staff at the SFGH.
The TTCF however, is not at liberty to divulge the details or the extent of her injuries and will continue to respect the privacy of the family as they deal with the situation at hand.
Lester, who claimed bronze at the Milton International Challenge in Canada in September was recently invited by the World Cycling Centre to train at their headquarters in Aigle, Switzerland for three months in 2017. The invitation was only recently received by the TTCF on Friday.
Once any updates on Lester’s recovery is available, same will be passed on to the fraternity. We ask everyone to keep Keiana in their prayers and thoughts for her to have a speedy recovery!
